ALEXANDER MILNE CALDER (AMERICAN 1846-1923), BRONZE OF WILLIAM PENN, 28" h. The present work is a much scaled down version of Calder's well known statue of Penn that sits atop Philadelphia City Hall. Cast in fourteen sections, it was completed in 1894 and stands at 37' tall.

PHILADELPHIA WILLIAM AND MARY WALNUT TALL CASE CLOCK, by Peter Stretch, Philadelphia (1670-1746), with a sarcophagus bonnet enclosing a thirty-hour works, with brass face, retains a fine old finish, 98.5" h. The engraving on the dial and the single hand movement determines this clock to be one of his earliest, probably 1703-1720.

Provenance: A Rhode Island collection.

Condition: Finials and feet replaced. Sarcophagus reglued to bonnet. Some elements of applied molding to door likely replaced. Pook & Pook does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition.

G. Erlemneyer. Sponsors were the parents, the upper script flanked by red and blue stars, over a profile of a husband and wife, with a candlestand between them with a loving cup on top, the wife wearing a red dress with flowers and holding her husband's hand, the husband wearing a black coat and holding a bouquet of flowers, 10" x 7.5”.
