Anna Von Red - Anna Roth was born November 17, 1793 as listed in the New Goschenhoppen Register, page 343.

Exhiibition; Exhibited at a Winterthur study and workshop in 2008.

Provenance: Purchased at auction in Lower Milford Township.

MONUMENTAL AMERICAN CARVED AND PAINTED SPREAD WINGED EAGLE ORNAMENT, ca. 1810, retaining an old yellow surface over remnants of original gilding and a period wrought iron fastening plate, 27" h., 57.5" w. The large size, construction, and carving make this exceptional eagle most likely from the workshop of Benjamin Rush (1756-1833).

Provenance: Removed from the Dependable (formerly Eagle) Moving and Storage Company, Philadelphia and purchased at auction near Line Lexington in 2005.

Condition:Old chips to tips of wings, tail feathers and beak.

IMPORTANT PENNSYLVANIA WROUGHT IRON POT HOLDER, ca. 1800, from the Sally Ann (Hunter Furnace), Rockland Township, Berks County, the outer ring with volutes and chickens, around an inner ring with profile busts of an African American woman, purportedly the wife of the iron master, 40.5" x 43.5”.

Provenance: Descended in the Abraham Biever Hunter family; Purchased in 1998 at the on-site auction for Walp's Restaurant, Bethlehem, where it was displayed in the dining room for many years.

Condition:Walps was located in Allentown, PA (not Bethlehem). Good condition. No apparent damages or repairs.

PUFFY SLEEVE FOLK ART PORTRAIT, miniature watercolor and hollow-cut silhouette portrait of puffy sleeve lady wearing a blue dress and holding a sprig of flowers, early 19th century, attributed to Ezra Wood. Mounted in a period lemon gold frame, and conserved on reverse side to avoid staining. The portrait and frame in very good condition. Sight size 3.5" x 4.125”.

Condition: professionally restored with strengthen backing to creases across horizontal at 1/3 folds (noted on reverse from David Whitcroft), left edge cut & right edge minor fraying.

FRAMED FULL SHEET PRINTED & WATERCOLOR ACCENTED BROADSIDE HOUSE BLESSING, attributed to Johann Henrich Otto, ca. 1785 dated; printed on laid paper for Otto by the Ephrata Cloister with lower center heart motif "Haus Sagen" upper "Christliche Haus Sagen" panel and surrounded by twelve heart motif spiritual statements, accented with Otto's traditional parrots, pointed and ball flowers in bright watercolor paints in ink outline and framed in a paint decorated molded frame, 15.75"x 19" framed.

Provenance: ex-Herb Schiffer collection, sold 4/25/1969 to Richard Flanders Smith, exhibited in Heritage Center "By Hand & Eye" collection 5/4-10/31/1976, sold by Christie's 6/3/1995.

Condition: extensive creasing, upper central tear and damage from rolling, lower central make-do repairs with infill on matted back.
